What’s the ONE thing that makes an excellent Recruiter (and also Candidate & Client)?
Communication.
This can also be known as ‘getting back to people’ or ‘updating’.
Over my two decades in recruitment, the most successful recruiters, and best clients/candidates, are the ones who communicate well. Very simple.
Those that don’t update when they say they will, or have any sense of urgency, don’t usually succeed.
If you’re a recruiter who doesn’t get back to the candidate or client, with good or bad news, you’re not going to be as successful as the recruiter that does.
If you’re the candidate or client who doesn’t get back to the recruiter, with good or bad news, your competitors will get priority next time.
We’re quite a simple species really – communicate well and you don’t need to do much else.
