Thankfully, the days of paying over the odds and ‘taking a punt’ are gone (for now)!
But, if you’re genuinely looking to move, or hire someone, be pragmatic FFS!!
No business is going to pay you a base of £40/50/60k if you’re only billing £120/150/180k
No individual is going to take your job if they can’t see what your plan and vision is, and believe in it.
Recruitment always has, and always will be, one fothermucker of an industry! But right now, we need to give our heads a wobble and answer some home truths.
When the market fully turns, that cork will explode, and we’ll back to the days of individuals being able to spell RECRUITMENT resulting in 5 offers, all paying stupid money.
